Leadwork and valley repairs.
A leaking valley, loose chimney flashing or worn roof-to-wall junction needs a clear diagnosis. Britannia Roofing repairs and renews leadwork in Cheltenham, Evesham and the Cotswolds. Tell us where water appears and send photographs taken from a safe position to discuss an assessment.

Your next step
Tell us what
your roof needs.
A leak to fix or a project to plan? Start with your postcode, a callback number and a short description. We will contact you to discuss the work and what is needed for a written quotation.
Our enquiries are for roofing repairs and installations. We do not sell loose tiles, slates or roofing materials.
For a time-sensitive problem, call us to discuss it. A visit is only booked once we have confirmed it with you.
Understand the roof junction
A valley carries water between two roof slopes. Flashings protect the junction where a roof meets a wall or chimney, while soakers sit between individual slates or tiles at some abutments. We assess the affected detail and the surrounding covering rather than assuming every damp patch needs the same repair. Water can travel before it becomes visible indoors.
Repair the detail or renew the section
The right scope depends on the condition of the lead, its joints and the adjoining roof. A limited defect may allow a focused repair; wider deterioration may need a section renewed. Safe access can be needed to see the detail properly. Photographs help us understand your enquiry, but they cannot confirm concealed timber or underlay condition.
Valleys, chimneys and roof-to-wall work
Our leadwork enquiries include valley repairs, chimney flashings, lead soakers and abutment details. Where tiles or slates need lifting for access, the quotation should identify the area included and how the adjoining covering will be reinstated. We explain any associated support or roof-covering work identified during the assessment.
Care around older roofs
On a traditional roof, the surrounding materials and original junction detail matter. We discuss what can be retained and how the proposed work fits the roof. If the building is listed or you have a conservation specification, tell us before the work is agreed. Historic mortar details should not automatically be replaced with lead.
A written scope before work starts
Your quotation sets out the leadwork included, access arrangements and associated roofing work. The cost depends on the height, length and complexity of the detail and what can be established during inspection. If opening up reveals additional work, that needs to be discussed and agreed. We provide fitted roofing work, not supply-only lead or roofing-material sales.

Can you repair a leaking lead valley without replacing the whole roof?
Sometimes. If the fault is confined to the valley and the adjoining covering is sound, a focused repair or valley renewal may be appropriate. We assess the surrounding roof and explain the limits of what can be seen before recommending the scope.
Is a leak beside a chimney always caused by the flashing?
No. Water can enter through different parts of the roof or chimney and travel before appearing indoors. We look at the flashing and surrounding roof detail; chimney masonry or other defects may need separate attention.
How much do lead flashing repairs cost in Cheltenham or Evesham?
The price depends on access, the amount of leadwork, the detail being repaired and any surrounding tiles, slates or support that need attention. Send your postcode and safe photographs so we can discuss an assessment and a written quotation.
Will sealant alone fix a leaking roof junction?
A surface treatment does not establish why the junction is leaking or whether the detail beneath is sound. We assess the cause and discuss the appropriate work. Any temporary protection should be distinguished from the agreed permanent repair.
Do you have an example of your leadwork?
Yes. Our project pages include photographs of the lead valley repairs carried out for Richard Hammond at a period property. The photographs show the roof details involved; each new property still needs its own assessment.
What should I send with a leadwork enquiry?
Include the property postcode, where water is appearing, when it happens and any photographs safely taken from the ground or inside. Do not climb onto the roof to take pictures. For water entering now, call to discuss the next available visit; attendance must be confirmed.
