More than the visible leak
We look beyond the damp patch to check the roof covering, drainage outlets, edges and the raised sections where the roof meets walls or rooflights. Where accessible, we also check the deck: the boards supporting the roof covering. Tell us about standing water, previous repairs or water marks indoors.
Choose the scope before the finish
A local defect may be repairable when the surrounding roof remains sound. Where the covering or deck is more widely affected, replacement may be the better approach. We discuss the proposed roofing system and its detailing for your particular extension, garage or residential roof, with the scope confirmed in writing.
EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass roofing
For EPDM rubber roofs, we assess the membrane, seams, edges and connections around walls and rooflights. For GRP fibreglass roofs, we look at the surface, trims and junctions as well as the deck where it can be inspected. Repairs depend on the existing system and its condition. For a replacement, we explain the proposed covering, deck work and drainage details before agreeing the specification.

We set out the roof area and covering, removal of existing materials where needed, the allowance for deck repairs, edge trims, wall junctions, rainwater outlets, access and waste removal. Hidden timber damage may only become clear once the roof is opened. We explain any allowance in the quote and agree additional work with you before proceeding.

Yes. We can discuss EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass roofing for suitable projects. The selected covering and associated deck, edges and junctions are specified for the roof after assessment.
Will a damaged deck cost extra?
It depends on the scope agreed. We state the allowance for deck work in the quote and discuss any additional deterioration uncovered before agreeing further work.
