Your next step
Tell us about
your project.
A leak to fix or a project to plan? Start with your postcode, a callback number and a short description. We will contact you to discuss the work and what is needed for a written quotation.
Tell us about your proposed dormer or extension and any drawings already prepared. The agreed scope will be set out in your quotation.
For a time-sensitive problem, call us to discuss it. A visit is only booked once we have confirmed it with you.
Start with the roof and the design
A dormer changes how the roof meets the walls, windows and surrounding covering. We begin with the proposed design, the existing roof and access to the property. Tell us whether you are planning a new dormer, replacing an existing structure or repairing its roof and sides.
Roof covering, cheeks and weatherproof junctions
The dormer roof, its side walls or cheeks, window junctions and flashings need to be considered together. Your written scope identifies the covering and cladding, supporting work and the junction with the main roof. Flat and pitched dormer roofs need different details; the specification follows the design and property.
A dormer is part of a wider project
Installing a dormer does not by itself turn a loft into a usable room. A full conversion can also involve floors, stairs, insulation, fire safety, services and internal finishes. We agree which elements we are quoting for and which need separate design or work by others.
Drawings, permissions and access
Discuss the proposal with your designer and local planning authority before assuming permission is unnecessary. Building regulations approval is separate from planning permission. Share any approved drawings, structural design and building-control requirements, along with access restrictions or listed-building details, before work is agreed.
A clear quotation before you commit
The price depends on the size and design, the existing roof, materials, scaffold access and the agreed scope. We explain what is included and any allowances for concealed conditions. Send photographs from a safe position; a site assessment may be needed before a firm quotation.

Can you work on a flat-roof dormer?
Yes. We can discuss the dormer structure and associated flat roofing, cheeks and flashings. The covering and junction details are agreed for the particular design rather than chosen from a photograph alone.
Do you also repair existing dormers?
Yes. Tell us whether the problem involves a leak, damaged covering, cladding or a window junction. We assess the affected area and explain whether a focused repair or wider renewal is appropriate.
Does a dormer quote include a complete loft conversion?
Only if those items are expressly included in the written scope. Ask us to distinguish the dormer and roofing work from floor strengthening, stairs, services and interior finishing.
What do you need to prepare a quotation?
Your postcode, drawings or a description of the proposal, safe photographs and any known access restrictions. Include the status of permissions and structural design so the next steps can be agreed.
